of this dynamic new workshop. Tech Kids is a program for students in 5th-8th grades. During this transition from elementary to middle school, students experience intense academic challenges in all subjects. Tech Kids empowers students to meet these higher expectations through training in techniques that cross all subject areas and that build self-sufficiency and self-confidence. Through the use of software, Internet, and laptop computers, students learn how to organize and plan their work, communicate with peers, parents and teachers, prepare for assignments and tests, produce quality research and written work, and help themselves when they are falling behind in a subject. |

The key to the Tech Kids approach is that it builds in each student the ability to problem-solve, work through difficult concepts, overcome academic obstacles, and move through assignments and projects with organization and self-generated purpose. Students learn how to use technology and Internet resources to support themselves. Parents benefit from this program because their children are able to independently meet their academic challenges. This leads naturally to higher levels of self-esteem in competitive academic settings.

The program is offered in four 2-hour sessions.
All technology is provided. A
registration fee and materials fee are required. Parents have the option of choosing from 5 weekly sessions: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Weekday sessions take place from 5pm-7pm; Sunday sessions take place from 4pm-6pm. A series takes place over four weeks, one day per week. If you register for Monday sessions, your child will attend each Monday, for four weeks (holidays excluded). It is possible, under certain circumstances, to substitute a different day of the week, but this is discouraged due to the importance of the group dynamic and bonding. |
Details Each session is $300, for a total tuition of $1,200. There is a $100 materials fee, which includes all books and use of a laptop with high speed internet. Advance registration is required. We accept credit card payments via Paypal. |
